As a Golden State Warriors fan in the days of "Run TMC" (Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, Chris Mullin) Hardaway's PSA for street homophobia made me more than a little sad.
It's not like my sports heroes are automatically saints, but they don't have to go out of their way to burst my bubble of hero okay-ness either.
Man, I can't wait 'til I dismiss my students and can listen to the audio on that one...
Takai was the grandmarshall at this year's Gay Pride parade here in Chicago. My best friend Jim, who's gay and a fellow trekkie had told me for years that Takai was gay.
BTW, did anyone else see the Shatner roast on Comedy Central? There were so many George Takei dick-sucking jokes I lost count. George laughed at them all, probably thinking about the big check he would get when the shoot was over.
Vikki, Was that the one where Courtney Hole, I mean Love, was stewed out of her mind along with Farrah Fawcett? Poor Farrah, made me almost embarrased that I had that poster, that every kid was issued, hanging on my wall. My grandmother thought I would like a picture of a hot chick who's eyes followed me around the room ....
