They already killed Kirk off, right? So...oh, never mind.
As much as I like Kirk, re-birthing him, oy. If re-birthing Spock would pull apart a mere planet, imagine what the shit that gets torn apart if Kirk were to go through the same process.
Then again, I haven't seen a ST movie without Kirk, and I don't know why I'd want to. The "expanded universe" or "future timeline" or "next generation" stuff or whatever they call it was interesting for a while, but sooner or later I go back to my original three seasons -- that's where the innovation really happened. This "expanding universe" business, like all that Star Wars stuff, it's just the same shit, different DNA.
From what I hear it is a prequel which may feature Shatner briefly. I forget who they have as young Kirk. Jude Law? But they are trying to get Gary Sinise as young Bones. This is second hand information.
10 players in the box:
I'm not going to see it if William is not in it.
Oh who am I kidding I wouldn't see it even if he was in it.
I can't wait! However, I will not cap out in line..
I also will not "camp" out in line... geeez...

I'd heard Matt Damon as the young Kirk.
Gary Sinese as a "young" Bones? Sinese is in his fifties. Deforest Kelley was only 45 when Star Trek started in 1965.
Damn-- was that a joke? Did I just bust myself as a Trekkie?
I always wanted a Deep Space Nine movie. That was the only Trek show I followed religiously.
Oh, and i've linked ya!
I didn't keep up with the spoilers after posting this and this. I'll have to go looking to see what the rumors are.
