Welcome my two Monkey linemates, a bug and a bee, to the blogging world!First on the ice is my teammate Bug O'Death. As you recall, she's a really good gift giver and she's tenacious on the puck, hence her name.
What some of you will like best about Bug is that she is an Elementary School teacher in Golden. I know there are several teachers out there like LuLu, Mathman, Megan (who used to blog before moving to Michigan to be with Some Guy), and Johnny Yen (before going back to school himself). Check out her latest post about Cheaters in her class.
I have to warn you though, if her writing is anything like her yelling at the refs, watch out for the chameleon-like affect when Bug goes from being a nice lady, to being one of the most pottie-mouthed people on the planet. We affectionately call it Bug's Tourettes. It's part of her charm.
Next on the ice is my other linemate QweenB, aka B Da Ho, aka Juicy. She is a trip. She thinks she's strange, but she isn't. She is a sweet, vegetarian, dog-loving, scrapbooking, hockey maniac who has lost 90 lbs. since last season! Um NO, that's not a typo. Check out her fat pants. As many of you know, our hockey team went 21-1 last season so we moved up a division, where we still have yet to win ONE game in our division. We've come close but a win still eludes us. The silver lining is that my girl QweenB was inspired to get off her then fat ass and improve her game for this higher level. She skates one or two times a day now, takes lessons from that chin-beaver Coach we have almost daily, and has a rigorous off-ice routine too. And that ladies and gentlemen, is how you go from a size 24 to a size 10, and become a much better, faster, stronger skater at the same time.
Let's not forget to mention that she has more energy after games now and will stay out late and drink Grey Goose and cranberry with me, so that is good for me.
And what is good for GKL is good for the world.
10 players in the box:
And your moniker is?
dad e: The coach calls me by our last name mostly. But on the ice, my teammates and I usually just call each other "ho." I am aka CuervHo for my love of tequila.
you guys need to implement the trap. and don't be afraid to stretch a guy in the neutral zone.
hard work beats talent when talent won't work hard.
I figured Chin Beaver put me on your line because you're a nice lady and you'd be patient with me. Now, I know he wants me to learn from your tenacity and hard work. And did you know, I use you as one of my inspirations? (Not just for vodka drinking, silly! Although, GOOD TIMES!) You go-go-go on ice and off and so I think, I'm gonna go-go-go, too!
Hey Heals: if that saying is true, I sense many, many goals in my future! I'm long on hard work & short on talent. I'm going to write it in my lesson book RIGHT NOW! Thanks!
Thanks for the intros, GKL. I am inspired by the fat pants post. I'm back on the 'ol "OMG, I need to lose these pounds" road again. Sigh...
QueenB "has a rigorous off-ice routine too"...
Sounds almost kinky!
Damn impressive... She must have one hell of a drive to have lost 90 pounds in 1 year (or less)!!
Thanks for the post GKL... It's nice to finally be able to have some time to blog... and it's great being your line mate too... let's hope Heals is right... there should be many goals in all of our futures!!!
off topic...
Hey, have you done your Easter Eggs yet? I was thinking of you while two first graders, a fourth grader, a seventh grader and a sophomore took over the kitchen for our egg decorating party. If you have done yours, show us!!
Heels: Good motto.
QweenB: No really, I'm just go-go-go when it comes to off-ice activities. Hee.
Bubbles: Maybe you should take up hockey! And no, I didn't get to do eggs this weekend - I had to move everything out of my townhome. But we did eggs at Christmastime - I should have takent pics.
Skydad: So you know my friend QweenB.
BSUG: It is truly impressive. Her jersey doesn't even fit her anymore.
Bug: I'm with you. I would buy a goal for our line if I could.
