The Last Series I Netflix'd

As I was telling Doctor Monkey the other day, I fell in love with Simon Pegg's work after I saw him in Shaun of the Dead - a delightful English spoof on Dawn of the Dead. I also enjoyed him in Hot Fuzz.

So Netflix recommended the series, Spaced to me. It is only two seasons and with 14 half-hour episodes total, you can knock it out in a weekend if you want. The series is almost ten years old now but I think the humor has held up relatively well. It's cute, zany and quirky as you'd expect an English series to be, but the character studies are what held my intrest past those moments when the script doesn't go so well. It might be worth a look-see if this is your type of humor.

Never heard of this! Thanks--I'll have to order this one. We just watched Run Fatboy Run.

if it's not blood and guts....shoot em up....car crashing.....spy vs bad guy stuff....it generally doesn't hold my interest....I will tell Double G to rent it and attempt to watch it.....

I tried to like this one but it just left me cold.

I bought this almost as soon as it came off of backorder at BBC America.

That scene, where they're moving into the apartment and talking about which Scooby Doo character they were as kids... that ends with one of my favorite sight gags ever.

I love Spaced beyond all reason.

Oh, and Daisy's job interview at Flaps is comic genius.

"When you said 'well'... did you mean 'shite'?" is an important part of my family's vocabulary now.

A friend of mine is on some kind of Simon Pegg kick. I've never seen one of his movies yet, but hear he's excellent.
